The pinnacle of one's early scientific output is one's dissertation or thesis. More and more theses and disseratations are becoming availbale online.

 

NDLTD http://www.ndltd.org/find

A collaborative project that started already wayback in 1987. There are two search interfaces availble. One through Scirus and another through VLTS

 

Proquest http://wwwlib.umi.com/dissertations

Through Proquest you can access the most current two years of citations and abstracts in the Dissertation Abstracts database.

 

Promise of Science http://www.narcis.info/?wicket:interface=:10::::

Search all theses of Dutch universities in a single search. The collection covers nearly 25,000 doctoral e-theses from all Dutch universities.

 

Australasian digital theses program http://adt.caul.edu.au/

The ADT program is designed to improve access to, and enhance transfer of, the research information contained in theses by providing a full text version available from the desktop via the web. The retrieval is enhanced by the inclusion of metadata tags in the documents which are given a higher weighting by the more sophisticated search engines.
